For too long, the voices of diverse families have been marginalized and ignored. And it shows. Black, American Indian, and Alaska Native (AI/AN) women are 2 to 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes than White women – and this disparity increases with age. Black mothers are more than twice as likely to lose their baby to miscarriage or stillbirth; and Black infants are more than twice as likely to die compared to White infants. We know that not only does racism interfere with the ability of individuals to access proper and equal medical care, but it also represents a pervasive barrier to educational, economic, and social success.
It is no secret that BIPOC mothers have been deeply impacted by systemic racism and institutionalized bias, resulting in huge disparities from access to fertility care through to birth and long-term outcomes for both them and the babies they longed for and loved. But they are not alone: LGBTQ+ families, single parents, other ethnic and religious minorities, and birthing people of all shapes, sizes, colors, and abilities struggle to be heard.

And we commit to using our platform to empower every person trying to conceive and every expectant family and to amplify those voices which have too often been silenced.
